BEACH RULES
 
At South Walton's public beaches, everyone must help keep the environment safe and pristine, so please follow these rules:
  • Leave no trace—any items left on the beach overnight will be disposed of.
  • Vehicles must have approved permits from the Walton County Board of County Commissioners to drive on the beach, which can be accessed through their lottery system. This only applies to Grayton Beach.
  • Dogs must have permits, accessible through the BCC, for them to be allowed on the beach. These permits are available to all Walton County residents and property owners and last until August 1st each year.
  • Glass containers are not allowed.
  • Stay off the dunes.
  • Do not remove or harm any sand, water, or vegetation. 
  • No amplified sounds are permitted, which is any device, speakers, radios, instruments, etc. that can be heard from a distance of 100 feet.
  • Tents must be 10' x 10' or smaller, set up only on the top 1/3 of the beach, and with 15' of space from the dunes for emergency vehicles
  • Grilling is only allowed using propane grills that measure 225 square inches or smaller (approx. 12" x 18" rectangular or 16" in diameter for circular grills).
  • Bonfire permits can be applied for through South Walton Fire District Monday to Friday from 8am until 4pm. Bonfires must be extinguished and cleaned up by 1am and all remnants must not be placed in the TDC trash containers.
